Gifts of Securities and More

We believe in redefining the way you give to the causes you care about. By being strategic with your donations, you can achieve a greater impact and enjoy significant tax savings.

Donate Securities: When you choose to transfer publicly listed securities directly to the library, the capital gains on the appreciated value are exempt from taxation. You’ll also receive a donation tax credit, creating a double tax-saving opportunity.

Donate Your RRSP or RRIF: You may have tax-deferred instruments such as a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) or Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) as part of your retirement plan. If you wish to donate these funds, Regina Public Library can be named as a beneficiary, either directly on retirement plan documents or named in a will. Donation of a retirement plan may significantly reduce tax for the estate.

Donate through an Insurance Policy: Imagine making a remarkable contribution without having to write a big cheque today. Insurance policies enable individuals to make significant, lasting gifts to the library, with a minimal outlay of current savings or income. You may choose to make Regina Public Library the beneficiary, or the beneficiary and owner of an insurance policy. By making the library the beneficiary of a policy, the estate will be issued a charitable gift receipt provided the policy is included in the Will. A charitable gift receipt will be issued for the policy premiums paid each year.

If you’d like to explore these extraordinary ways of giving, we strongly encourage you to contact us, and consult with your trusted financial advisor. They will guide you through the process, ensuring your philanthropic efforts align perfectly with your financial goals.

Giving Platforms: It’s simple and secure for you to support the library directly through our own website, by using the “Donate Now” button. However, we understand that people have different preferences when it comes to online giving, and we’re happy to accommodate your choices. That’s why we also accept donations through a variety of reputable online giving platforms, including:

  • Canada Helps: A platform that allows you to make donations to registered Canadian charities.
  • Benevity: A corporate giving platform that empowers employees to support their favorite causes. If your workplace uses Benevity, you can easily direct your donation to Regina Public Library.
  • Facebook: You can create a fundraiser for Regina Public Library on Facebook. It’s an effortless way to inspire giving with your network.

When you give through these platforms, donations are receipted directly through the respective platform. Each platform has its own terms and conditions. For more information on any of these options, please contact 306-777-6106 or supportrpl@reginalibrary.ca
